A couple days ago, I ended up getting a new phone. My old phone was way beyond outdated, and I've had it for over a year now. And because I charged it so much, its battery life was just plain awful! It would go from full 4 bars of life, down to 0 and die only after 10 texts or so. Which made it very hard to try and text my parents or Amanda when I needed to at school :/
So I ended up investing in a new phone, and I also began a new project which I am very excited about :)!
When I first went to the Verizon Store with my parents, they had no intention of getting me any smart phone. I asked them a couple days prior, and they said no because of the monthly fee for apps and what not :/ They wanted a free phone. The store no longer carried the phone I had at the time, an LG Envy Touch, which made me sad because I really liked that phone!! :( So we looked around a bit.
This guy helped us out (who my mom thought was cute, as usual =_=;) and he showed us all the free phones that don't get charged for internet and what not. But the problem was, they were all so ugly!!! :( Now I don't normally care about looks, let alone what phone I have, because I could care less about my material possessions, however... this wasn't something that could have been overlooked. I only had three options for my free phone, and they were all hideous. So I flat out told them "I don't like any of these." Which then, helped turn events to my favor!
My dad looked to my mom, and said that a monthly fee doesn't sound too bad if it's only for me. They discussed it a little bit, and my mom caved in. So they said I could get a smart phone! :) I thought an iPhone was going to cost a lot more than a normal smart phone, but to my surprise it was the same amount. The second I heard that I could get an iPhone, I exploded with happiness!! Excitement just oozed out of me! I couldn't wait!! :D
We tested out the iPhone and Droid, to see which we liked better, but I was already set on the iPhone. No if's, and's, or but's about it! So in the end after seeing the phones, my dad caved in as well, and decided, well... everyone in the family should get one. So they talked about it. Amanda didn't want a new phone because she likes her current one a lot. And Josh well... is Josh. So he didn't care at all about a phone. However, my mom ended up getting the Droid and my dad got an iPhone with me! It was all very exciting :D
I feel bad because it raised our monthly bill by a lot... but it was his choice :( My dad downloaded the app Angry Birds and has been playing it non-stop!! It's soo funny watching an adult get so excited over a game... haha, it's cute :) I am glad it makes him happy! For my iPhone, I got a pretty pink case and downloaded a couple apps, and I must say, it is probably the greatest thing to have ever happened to me.
No, not because it's cool looking and popular. But because it has allowed me to do so much more! I can now actually text with people, I can surf the web, I can interact and become closer with my friends on Facebook, I can talk to people on my MSN list with it while away, it's just so amazing! It has brought me a lot closer to people :)
It also encouraged me to start up a new project, which brings me to my next topic: Tumblr. I recently discovered this gem of a site. It's pretty much a blog told by pictures and quotes. I didn't think it'd be that great at first, but I knew some people who have one, so I thought I'd give it a try. And I must say, it is absolutely amazing!! Tumblr I think is one of the best things to happen to me in a while :) I feel so free and happy while on it, and I haven't felt this good in a long time.
I made a blog solely based on having fun, enjoying life, and being in love. I made it for the purpose of reminding people to love their life and be happy :) And I must say, it is working pretty well! I have only had it for two or three days now, and I have made several friends/followers. People like my blog and my photos, and it makes me feel good :) I know it's doing its job then!
I will admit it is a tad bit distracting... or a lot distracting... haha ^^; I pretty much spend almost all day on it cruising photos and communicating with other blogs. But I don't mind it, because it's fun and I make new friends (: It also keeps me smiling from day to day. My own blog even helps me maintain a smile! teehee
So I would like to thank my iPhone for encouraging me to start up a Tumblr and helping me get closer wiht my friends. Life is going absolutely amazing, and I hope it continues (:
