1. If you don't like something about your life, it is up to you to change it. No one else can do it for you, and just sitting there complaining about it or thinking about it won't solve anything. If you don't like it, stand up and change it for yourself. It is your life, and you have the ability to make it turn out any way you want it to.
2. Everything happens for a reason. Yes, I know this line is cliche, but I believe it is true. Whatever the outcome may be, even if it isn't in your favor, you have to know that it happened for a reason. It was meant to be, and you shouldn't let it bring you down. There is so much more meant for you in this life, and there are plans for you. Being partially religious, I believe God does have plan's for each and every one of us, and things will work themselves out. And even if you aren't religious, you still have to believe that things will be alright in the end. Don't reminisce or think back on the past all the time, because what happened, happened. And you can't change that. All you can do is sit back, and let life take its course, and see what it has in store for you. Just know that your time will come, and everything will work out in the end :)
I truly wish, more people thought like this. My view on life is very lenient. I am a very carefree person, and do not take life very seriously at all. I live in the moment, and just watch where life takes me. If you knew me, you would know I am a huge optimist. I always see the glass half full, can always find the positives to keep me going, can always find the cloud with the silver lining in any situation, etc. And because of these views of mine, I am generally and always a happy person. You will most likely never catch me without a smile on my face :)
I think a lot of people let the events of life drag them down, instead of just trying to make the best out of all the situations. All they have to do, is know that everything they are going through now, is worth it in the end, and all it does is make them a stronger person. You have to know that everything will be okay in the end, and things will work themselves out. Life has a funny way of working, and you just have to believe in yourself, and have faith that things will be okay. Everything you go through in life, is just another trial or challenge to yourself. And when you let it effect you, you are losing the battle. Letting it get to you, is like giving up on it. You have to overcome all these challenges to get where you want to be in life, so you might as well take it on full force, and enjoy the ride. Plus it feels amazing when you pass the challenge and you finally see just how worth it, it was in the end :)
People come to me a lot when they need to talk, especially when they are depressed about something. And I always make sure to make time for them. I will always make time to talk to people, even if I don't know them that well, because I do care a lot about them, and I do believe everyone should be happy. (I almost considered changing my major to psychology, and becoming a psychologist because of this aspect). I wish depressed people would think differently :/ They really only see the downside to things. Most depressed people tend to bother me though, because most of the time, they aren't even trying to be happy. I honestly believe, that if you wanted to be happy, you would be. One of my favorite quotes explains this:
"I am still determined to be cheerful and happy, in whatever situation I may be; for I have also learned from experience that the greater part of our happiness or misery depends upon our dispositions, and not upon our circumstances."
I believe this quote is completely and 100% true. It is how I live my life. It doesn't matter what situation you are thrown in, or what is going on in your life at the moment. You shouldn't let it bring you down no matter what. You should be happy with what you've got going for you, and just enjoy living life to the fullest. When you are happy, you are at your best. And you feel so much better :) I speak this, because I know the feeling. I had to go through a really tough time last year, and I was depressed for a couple of months. But one day, I woke up, and realized I didn't like feeling this way, and I knew nothing was going to change that, but me. And I did. I knew things were going to get better in life, and I decided to keep my head held high, and to go on with my life, knowing things would turn out alright. I realized how blessed I truly was in life, and that it made no sense to let this one situation drag me down. Ever since then, I have been happy, and it feels absolutely wonderful! Being happy is the greatest feeling in the world, second only to being in love ;) teehee
I wish more people thought like this, and were happy with their lives the way they are. Basically, my message is, be happy with what you've got. Don't let the past or events in life bring you down, because you know down the road things will get better. And you always have the ability, to shape your life the way you want it to be :)
I would like to share a couple more quotes on happiness, that I am really fond of, and help to summarize everything I believe about being happy:
"
Being happy doesn't mean that everything is perfect. It means that you've decided to look beyond the imperfections."
"Happiness is not having what you want, it's wanting what you have."
It may sound silly, but my one wish in life, is for everyone to be happy. I may be one person, but I try my best to make that come true :) And I hope one day, everyone will be able to find their true happiness in life.
