So this marks the end of my first week of school! :) I will admit, it seemed like it lasted FOREVER, but I am glad it is finally over. Now I can share my experiences with each of my classes. Ahem!
History: Okay so my history class, is probably the most ghetto class in the whole school, not kidding! Let alone that the Centennial Campus feels like a prison in itself, but my whole class is like 75% gangstas. You know, pants down to the floor, acting all pimp yo. At first I was very skeptical, and I didn't like the class at all! But after two classes of it, I have warmed up. The gangstas always seem to burst out with random remarks or make silly comments on everything, especially the guy who sits next to me. And the funny part is... the teacher actually joins in as well. She will reply back with her own smart-ass comments and join in on the fun! The teacher honestly acts just like one of us, and it's hilarious! She doesn't watch her mouth at all. She is constantly cursing or saying offensive phrases, and then apologizes after, but then continues to do it. It's awesome :) The class is very funny! Which is a good contrast, considering I find history to be the most boring and least favorite of my subjects.
Break I: During my 45 minute break between my classes, I usually go up to the very top floor and sit in the lounge! There is this one kid who is always there as well, I guess we just happen to share the same break. Since we share the same break all the time, I hope to make friends with him and maybe start talking at some point! :)
Biology II: Sometimes I wonder why I decided to become a Pharmacist, since I am not very interested in science at all! But this semester's Biology class is pretty cool :) I walked into there knowing no one, but as I was sitting down, this girl who was in my Chemistry class last semester came up to me and invited me to sit with her :D It was very kind of her to do! And it made me happy to know I had one friend in the class at least. I happened to sit in a very cool area of the classroom, and I have made friends with everyone who sits around me! :) I love it so much! I am also friends with this lady, who is also my lab partner. She is apparently olderish, but I didn't notice at all! :( She is in military and travels and moves a lot, and even has her own kids, so she has a lot of stories! Aside from all the cool kids in that class, the teacher is VERY good. And I mean very good. He doesn't teach by chapters, instead he picks all the chapters that relate to one another, and teaches us by concept. And it has made learning so much easier. This class goes by so fast, because it is so interesting and packed with information! I honestly don't get tired of it. The teacher may talk quietly and pretty slow, but for some reason, that helps me retain information and pay attention a lot more. He has a list of objectives and questions and things we should know for each concept, and he follows along the outline very well. I honestly am doing so well in this class right now! I take notes very carefully, and then after each concept, I fill out all the objectives and questions, and make sure I know it all. And it feels great :D I have a great feeling about this class!! ^^
Computer Literacy: Umm... what can I say? This is probably the easiest class I have ever taken in my life. I didn't take it because I wanted to, since I am already very good with computers and what not. I took it because it is required for me to take at least one semester of a computer class, and I just chose this one! But seriously... okay, on the first day, there was this one kid who was walking down the hall cursing up a storm because he couldn't find his class. Me and a group of people were waiting outside our class for the professor to arrive, so the kid asked us where his class was. And low and behold, guess which class he was in? Yes, this one. Not only was that bad enough, but he sat right next to me!! -sigh- Just my luck I get the underachiever slacker kid to sit next to me. He introduced himself, and was very friendly... borderline creepy, in fact I just declared him a creeper c: More on him later. Back to the class though, the whole thing is SO easy!! Our first assignment was to use google and our school website, to answer some questions. I finished so fast and got to leave early. And next class we have a quiz already. And it's over terms like "CD-ROM" or "Folder" or "Task Bar" or "Hard Drive". And all you have to do is match up the words with the definitions. Like... are you kidding me??? It's SO easy @_@ I mean, I'm not complaining. I just find it funny how easy the class is. Easy A for me! ;D -rejoices-
Break II: Now usually I don't have a break at all during this time, and I just go straight to Chemistry. But on the first day I got out early, so I went up to sit in the lounge again, and guess who followed me up there? Yes, creeper kid. He sat next to me and started talking to me. So I asked him what he was majoring in and things. His reply? "I don't know. Honestly, I don't really care, because I am an aspiring musician." .............yeah. ok. Whatever you say. He is practically a drop out, who made a band, and not even a successful band. He says his band has no instruments, they always borrow from people, and they write very offensive controversial music, leading to them getting boo'd off stage a lot. So all in all, his music career is going nowhere. He was SUCH a creeper though!!! He kept following me and grabbing my hand saying "Nice to meet you... I hope I get to see you again... :)" And he wouldn't let go of my hand. Omg. I like... omg. Just no LOL
Chemistry II: This class is my savior from creeper kid!! :D I love this class so much! Everyone is so nice in it, and I made friends with everyone around me again, just like in Biology ^^ I even met one guy who is also going into Pharmacy, so it was neat to talk to him about it! :) My friend Jordan (the girl who invited me to sit with her in Biology) is also in this class with me! So I am very happy I know her too :D She is like my bff for both science classes! The overall class is very fun. The teacher goes through chapters pretty quickly though, but he is very good at explaining everything thoroughly. He is also very witty, and comes up with funny remarks all the time! Chemistry, just like Biology, also goes by pretty fast. Probably because I find it very interesting this time around, and the teacher is very good! Also... err... the teacher is kinda... well, okay. I shouldn't say it like this. I don't find him attractive, because he is older! But honestly, he is pretty good looking for an older man, and he has this super hot accent ;) HAHA So I guess that just makes class that much more enjoyable c: teeheehee
Ethics: My last class! This one I am not too fond of at all!! :( First off, I don't like ethics or philosophy classes. I am not very good at being philosophical and arguing my thoughts and opinions against others. Because frankly, I don't care LOL I am one of those people who go "Everyone has their own opinions. No one is wrong or right." which doesn't pass off in this class. Most of your grade in the class is based off participation and how involved you are in it. Which is a huge slap in the face to me, since I don't like participating in this type of class discussion. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind talking in class. I am a very social person!! But just not philosophical things :( And it doesn't help that the whole class is very anti-social, as in there are one or two over achievers who state something controversial or philosophical every couple of minutes, to get easy participation. But everyone else just sits there quietly... it's just awkward. I don't feel comfortable speaking up at all :( Hopefully as class goes on, I will be able to gain some courage, and participate more! The teacher in that class is very nice though :) I feel bad for him... he has a little bit of a disability, causing him not to be able to speak correctly 100% of the time. And I think a lot of people, especially immature college students, might judge him because of that. He told us at the beginning if we can't understand him, to say so and things, but I just felt so bad for him. Because he is a very bright guy, but I think people look down upon him just because of his disability, which is wrong :/ But I think he is a very cool teacher, and I am glad I have him! :)
I am actually very excited for this semester, no lie! Which is scary... I have never been this excited or happy with school before. It feels nice... ^^ I mean yeah, it is exhausting. Since I get back in the late afternoon all the time, and am constantly taking naps, BUT I love all my classes, well... most of them, and all my teachers as well! So I know this semester will be a good one! :D I seriously can't wait to see how it plays out as it continues on!! The first week was a very good one, so let's hope all the weeks to follow are as well! :)
