So, as you all know, yesterday was the Superbowl :) I am not a huge sports fan at all, I mean hello, I'm a girl. We don't like sports D< However, the only time I do watch football is during the Superbowl!! But to be honest, it's not because I care about the teams. The only reason I watch it, is for the funny commercials that always play during the Superbowl :)
This time there were a bunch of funny ad's! Bud Light and Doritos never disappoint. Even Pepsi had some good ones. However, I think my favorite commercial would have to be this one car commercial. It was about a little kid who dressed up as Darth Vader trying to use the "force". You can see for yourself below ;) I already told myself that if I have a kid, he will be able to use the force fer sure.
This year, I also convinced my mom to do our traditional Superbowl Pool! :) I am not very good at explaining it to others, but basically we make a chart/grid with scores lined up on the top and scores on the left side, then we randomly choose squares and put our names in the squares. And at the end of each quarter, we check what the score is, and we match up the scores from the top row and the left column, and whoevers name is in that square, wins money! :D I don't know if that made any sense at all. As I said, I am bad at explaining it :( We made each square this time cost 50 cents, and there were a total of 100 squares. Josh decided not to play, so we each got 25 squares! So that was $12.50 from all of us :( So much money!! But if you won during first, second, or third quarter, you won $12. And if you won during the final quarter, you got $14! It would be a better profit if you had more people... but we make due with what we have ;o
The end results were pretty funny. My mom chose her squares first, then me, and then Amanda. My Dad had no choice but to buy out the only squares left available, aka the leftover squares. And in the end, he won every single time LOL Isn't that ironic?? He was forced to buy those squares, yet all those squares were winning ones. So he ended up winning all $50 :( I was sad. But he gave some of the money to us, to go buy Panera Bread for lunch tomorrow. So nice of him! :D That's why I love my dad. Money $_$ Cha-ching! jkjk
On a complete side note, today we had to take my grandma's cats down to the Humane Society :( It was very sad... my mom pretty much told us, they would most likely have to be put down to sleep. And on the whole drive there, they just kept meowing and crying in their cages ;-; I seriously began to tear up. Then in the middle of the drive, my mom brought up them being put to sleep again, and I just about lost it. I mean seriously?? Why would you bring that up D< So uncalled for.
But yeah, we arrived at the Humane Society and brought them in. My mom thought the one cat, Sadie, would automatically be put down, because she didn't look in too good of shape. But she assumed the other cat, Millie, would be able to be put up for adoption. Well it turns out they don't put any cats over the age of 8 up for adoption. And Millie was older than that so... guess what? :/ It was very sad. Thankfully we got some pictures of them before they went bye-bye. So I will have to put those up :)
Rest in Peace Millie and Sadie! We loved your meows D: You shall be missed.
